Japan Tsunami

Japan Tsunami Yesterday,, The largest earthquake in Japan since records began nearly 150 years ago, broke into the country's east coast today, triggering tidal waves up to 23 feet high that it disappeared from ships, cars and houses and killed hundreds of people. Hours later, the waves hit Hawaii, but caused no serious damage.

The 8.9 magnitude quake's epicenter was 231 miles northeast of Tokyo, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. But in areas as far away as South America, Canada, Russia, Alaska and throughout the U.S. west coast was a tsunami alert, as the initial waves of the quake spread out across the world.

Fear of the disaster, authorities ordered the evacuation of all the Hawaii coastal areas. The tourist district of Waikiki, visitors were moved to a higher level of accommodation. Elsewhere, residents line up to the store and stored emergency supplies, including gas, bottled water, canned food and generators. Fortunately, when the waves finally arrived, you've lost a lot of strength and size. The approximately 7-meter-high tsunami was recorded on Maui, and at least 3 feet high wave was recorded Oahu and Kauai.

In Japan, however, the earthquake has caused havoc and death on an epic scale.
